KIDS July Is National Parks & Recreation Month
At the Chandler City Council meeting on Monday, June 20, Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny presented the proclamation that July is National Parks & Recreation Month and July 10-16 is National Therapeutic Recreation Week. So even though the temperatures will be in the 110-degree range, you can still get out and participate in Chandler Recreation classes and activities and enjoy Chandler Parks in the mornings and evenings. TRC Closed July 4 & Hosts Blood Drive on July 5
The Tumbleweed Recreation Center will be closed on Monday, July 4 due to the fireworks at Tumbleweed
Park, but after the holiday weekend, the TRC will host a blood drive on Tuesday, July 5 from 4-6:30 p.m. (745 E. Germann road) with United Blood Services. To make an appointment, call 480-782-2907 or just stop by.
Sports, Arts & Nature Youth Camps Continue Through July!
The summer Break Time magazine featuring youth arts, sports and nature camps through July 22 is still available at many City facilities. Registration is ongoing for residents and non-residents. Camps are half-day and full-day for boys and girls ages 5-12 and are held at Tumbleweed Recreation Center, Snedigar Recreation Center and the Environmental Educational Center. Register at

Sign Up For Teen Adventure Camps
Don’t spend July staying at home! Teens can sign up for the Teen Adventure Camps at Andersen Junior High School to meet new people, swim, play games and go on field trips. The camp is for teens entering 7th, 8th and 9th grades and continues through July 15. Register at

Wednesday Family Nights at Tumbleweed Recreation Center
Join in the fun at Family Night at Tumbleweed Recreation Center every Wednesday throughout the summer from 5:30-7 p.m. There is a different activity each week. The fee is $2 ($3 for non-resident ages 1-12) and $3 ($5 for

Cool Off With Chandler Aquatics!
Chandler Aquatics has 6 Aquatic Centers open for the summer! All the pools are open daily for the season through July 24. Each facility has different operational schedules. There will be several special events at some of the pools in July. See page 20 of the summer Break
