World renowned stallions gallop into Phoenix


More than 26 million people throughout North and South America, Europe, Australia and Hawaii have seen this internationally acclaimed “World Famous” Lipizzaner Stallions, and now SanTan Sun area residents can enjoy the same at U.S. Airways Center, 201 E. Jefferson in Phoenix, at 2 or 6 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 14 at the 41st anniversary presentation of the “Dancing White Stallions.”


The Lipizzaner Stallion is billed as an “equestrian work of art,” performing a unique equine ballet that harkens back to a time when the horse was a symbol of grace and majesty.


There are a limited number of VIP seats available for $35 each. Regular admission adult tickets are $26.50 and $22.50 each. For children 12 and younger and seniors 60 and older, regular admission tickets are half price at $13.25 and $11.25 each. For groups of 15 or more, regular admission tickets are $21.50 and $17.50 each. Additional facility fees, ticketing fees, service charges and / or taxes may be included in or added to ticket prices.

WEDDING PLANNERS: Everything a bride and groom need to plan a wedding is represented at the Chandler Gilbert Bridal Show at Noah’s For All Life’s Events on July 9.


A fashion show and free dance lessons are part of the Chandler Gilbert Bridal Show held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., July 9 at Noah’s For All Life’s Events, 2100 E. Yeager Dr., off Cooper & Germann, south of the Santan Loop 202 Freeway in Southern Chandler. The event offers the public and businesses an atmosphere of an actual wedding celebration. A fashion show will be held at 1 p.m., with dance lessons at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.. A health and beauty room as well as an official “groom’s lounge” for those fiancés attending are a few of the day’s highlights. Those interested in


planning a wedding and having an opportunity to win raffle prizes such as a photo package valued at $1,100 or a gym membership, should attend.

Centennial copper chopper continues tour


Arizona’s centennial copper chopper, the official mascot of the state’s 100th-birthday celebration, is making holiday stops in Mesa, Tusayan and Phoenix as part of its Independence Day tour.


Gov. Jan Brewer unveiled the copper chopper in October 2010 during the Arizona State Fair, introducing it on a 17-month road tour to fairs, events and festivals across Arizona.

Mesa’s Southwest Ambulance Arizona Celebration of Freedom July 2; Tusayan’s Old-Fashioned 4th of July at the Grand Hotel, Grand Canyon July 3; and Freedom Wireless Fabulous Phoenix at Steele Indian School Park July 4.


At every copper chopper event tour, visitors can enter to win the keepsake drawing ticket for $5. Drawing tickets will soon be available at 600 Circle K locations statewide.
