Scottsdale ArtWalk reveals 2011-12 special events
Visitors can “chill” with music, art and food samples at the 22nd annual Summer Spectacular ArtWalk from 7 to 9 p.m. Thu., July 7, the kickoff event for the Scottsdale ArtWalk’s 2011-12 season, which takes place in the Scottsdale Arts District in downtown Scottsdale.
Entertainment acts lined up for the free event include Tera Crisalida, John Calvert, Angela Leavitt, John Burton of Fire Ridge and Sherry Finzer. Free samples will be provided by China Mist Iced Teas, Popchips and Icelandic Glacial Water.
Next up: The Western ArtWalk, also featuring the third annual Main Street Drawing Event, Oct. 20, followed by the Holiday Small Works Show beginning Dec. 1 and running through Dec. 31; the Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk Dec. 29; A Taste of ArtWalk Jan. 19, 2012; the Best of Scottsdale ArtWalk, also celebrating Arizona’s Centennial, Feb. 16, 2012; the Native Arts ArtWalk March 1, 2012; the Glass Act ArtWalk April 12, 2012; and the 2012 Summer Spectacular ArtWalk July 5, 2012. All events are held from 7 to 9 p.m. Regularly occurring events include “The Art of Wine” tastings on the third Thursday of every month at participating galleries in the area and the Scottsdale ArtWalk from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday except holidays.
