Business-to-business opportunities come in many forms, and July’s networking events presented by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce drive home opportunities to promote businesses beginning with the Chamber’s Wake-Up Chandler, the early morning networking event that takes place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wed., July 13, hosted at Extreme Body Shaping, 4939 W. Ray Rd., Suite 9, on the southeast corner of Ray and Rural roads. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards and brochures and come prepared to deliver a personal 30-second business commercial. The cost is $5 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
If mixing business with pleasure is a preference, the Chamber’s Business of Golf – Networking on the Fairways, sponsored by Croffoot Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., begins at 6:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. Wed., July 20 at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort, Club House, 1 N. San Marcos Pl. The Chamber’s golf league meets twice per month to play nine holes of golf followed by breakfast and networking.
“Building stronger business relationships in an effort to cultivate future business is the goal of this event,” says the Chamber’s Brad Ness, who adds that businesses may include customers, staff members and business prospects in this business- building activity. Gilbert Chamber summer leads events
Gilbert’s Chamber of Commerce keeps residents busy in July with corporate events.
LinkedIn’s Small Business Workshop, sponsored by AKA Internet Marketing, is from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wed., July 13 at the chamber’s office, 119 N. Gilbert Rd., Suite 101. Reservations are required, and price is $10 for chamber members and $20 for non-members. Guest speaker Anthony Kirlew will discuss benefits and features of LinkedIn, including setting up personal and company profiles, leveraging LinkedIn groups and connecting social media tools to LinkedIn. Also, new and existing chamber members are invited to a free panel discussion, What’s In It For You: A Chamber Review, to learn more about member benefits, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wed., July 20 at the Chamber’s office. Other events include Morning Blend: A Networking Experience, which allows members and nonmembers to spread the word about their company’s products or services, and to network and build relationships with other professionals. The breakfast is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wed., July 20 at the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. Admission for members is $5 and $25 for nonmembers.
Annie Groth, founder of The Maximization Team, will speak at What Women Want Business Expo, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tues., July 26 at San Tan Elegante and Legado Hotel & Conference Center, 1800 S. San Tan Village Pkwy. in Gilbert. The event invites businesswomen to interact and share their products and services. General admission, including lunch, is $35 for nonmembers and $20 for members. Tee off to help domestic violence shelter
Sojourner Center is the beneficiary of a special networking fundraising event sponsored by CrossWoods Indoor Golf and Nationwide Insurance. Open to the public, the event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Fri., July 8 at CrossWoods Indoor Golf, located in Gilbert east of Higley on Baseline Road.
There will be a closest to the pin and the longest and straightest drive contests. Winners’ receive a Nationwide Golf Bag or two rounds of golf from CrossRoads. Cost to participate in each contest is $2 per hit or three hits for $5. Raffle tickets for prizes are available for $1 each.
Proceeds from the contests and raffles go to the Sojourner Center, the nation’s largest domestic violence shelter. In 2011, based on previous figures, the center anticipates more than 2,800 women and children who are victims of violence or survivors will call Sojourner Center “home” this year.
