Challenge Ride July 2011
Starting on the Suffolk / Norfolk border in Diss, The Prostate Cancer Charity Tour Ride East Anglia’s Challenge Ride features the closing 100 kilometres of The Tour of Britain’s longest stage.
Despite the long distance the ride is an easily achievable target, taking places as it does on mainly low lying, level roads as it heads towards Sandringham, just off the north Norfolk coast.
From Diss you will head north first winding your way to the historic market town of Wymondham a third of the way into the ride, with any undulations in this section gently rising and falling beneath your wheels
The Challenge Ride continues north, keeping to the west of Norwich and crossing the Wensum valley to Reepham, where the route turns to the west.
As the stage nears Sandringham it crosses the famous Peddars Way and Massingham Heath, turning north for the final few miles as you near Sandringham and it’s famous estate, the much loved country retreat of the Queen. Finishing in the woodland setting of the County Park, there are plenty of excellent facilities to enjoy, as you relax and reflect on a challenging ride in aid of a very good cause.
