“Thumbs down to those people who

can’t figure out the age of Pelham High School. Apparently you’ve never been in the place or your not very observant. There’s a plaque on the wall when you walk in stating the High School was dedicated in September of 1974, so 2011 minus 1974 equals 40 years old. Oh, and whose bright idea was it to ask Windham to accept Pelham students? The bad blood between Pelham/Windham goes way back to what town was going to fix the Castle Hill Road Bridge way back in the late 60’s early 70’s. It only got resolved in the past couple of years because it washed away.”

“Thumbs up to Pelham Residents for making us Windham residents believers in Karma. Please do take the next logical step of seceding from SAU28 as 60% of the budget of SAU28 comes from Windham taxpayers while they only get back 40%.”

“Thumbs up to the neighbor who has stopped hitting golf balls into our yard and around our home. It is much appreciated! God bless you!

Hill and Jeremy Hill. I drove by you a few weeks ago, and realized that I knew you (you were one of my teachers in high school), and went to wave and smile. Unfortunately, it was received with angry expressions and yelling at my car. I was extremely puzzled (as was my daughter in the backseat), since I was going the speed limit, and was well aware that you were walking on that road. Then it dawned on me that maybe my wave was perceived as something else! I just wanted to clarify and make known that I just wanted to say hello. Hope that helps! :)”

“Thumbs up to Miss Pattie...it was a pleasure working along side of you this year... thanks for sharing your big heart and great humor with us...looking forward to hearing that you will be with us full time next year!! Enjoy your summer:)”

“Thumbs down to the big wigs that had a hand in the mistreatment and letting go of Mrs Macitosh at the PES K-5 program...you should all be ashamed of your behavior and actions...she was a wonderful teacher to our children and its a shame our towns children won’t have the privilege of having her for their first teacher.”

P “Thumbs down to the uninformed person

who was complaining about the town spending money on the repair of route 38. Maybe he/she should do some research and maybe he’d find out that route 38 is a state road and the town is not wasting our money repairing this road.”

“Thumbs down to the gutter trim that is falling apart in the back of Pelham Elementary School---maintenance people, property maintenance so we don’t run into problems all the time. Take care and put money into your properties so we don’t have any future problems.”

“Thumbs down to the televised school board meeting where Mr. Hardy, Mr. Ducharme and Mr. Adam Steel were asked about the status of the empty property bordering the high school parking lot. All 3 board members blatantly lied when stated that the property is ’not for sale’, ‘not available.’ How convenient right after voting when the for sale sign suddenly appeared. And to this day is still for sale. Believe me, we are onto your games.”

Talk to

Windham for not keeping 28-year veteran police officer Scott Rogers on as a part- time officer. Too bad that was not the case when Jerry Lewis quit his jobs as chief of police shortly after being hired and was reinstated by some of those same people. Shame.”

“Thumbs down to the Teacher’s Union president who does not support new teachers and defend their union rights against unethical administrative decisions. It’s pathetic that teacher’s have to contact the union headquarters to get the support necessary to be treated just and fairly. You will take our money and tell us to join, but when push comes to shove you are an ineffective Union President. And shame on you for protecting the tenured teacher’s who are not quality teacher’s, the double edge sword of being in the union...

“Thumbs down to the person that complained about rapid gunfire at the Pelham Fish and Game. Move if you don’t like what you hear.

I live close by as well

and listen to these rapid-fire shots all the time. Like the previous responder to your comment said, the cause of this rapid fire is full auto weapons our Law enforcement etc. is training with and thank god they are! Although, even if a lawful civilian wanted to quickly empty a clip down range in a controlled manor at a place they are paying good money to be a member of, why is this any of your concern? Again, move if you don’t like what you hear. I’m sure the range has been there before you. I think Pelham is very quiet where I live, between shots. If I wanted quieter I’d move. No one cares about your competition trophy from the 80’s sitting on your shelf collecting dust. That isn’t a free pass to tell people how, when and if they can shoot.”

“Thumbs up, with a heart felt thank

you, to the man at the Windham transfer station...you know the worker who was ordered out by the patron offended by his plate! SERIOUSLY, New Hampshire is the “Live Free of Die” state, I think that entitles him to a vanity plate of his choice. On to more important matters. This transfer station worker/man/gentleman has been a source of great attitude, hard work and re- spect for the many years I have been a resi- dent of Windham. When my husband was too ill during a health crisis to bring our trash to the transfer station, I did the job. This lovely man always offered to help out with the heavy or otherwise yucky lifting. He was always there with a smile and a positive attitude. On one particularly bad day he helped me out and lifted my spirits with his great outlook. I frequently observe him watching out for the little ones who love to help their dads with the weekly trash, he is also often seen helping out the elderly with the heavy lifting. I am not sure what this “thumbs down” resident experienced but I will say with confidence the good far out weighs the bad with this faithful town employee. He not only approaches his van- ity plate with a chuckle, he approaches his job with positive energy and helpful attitude that I and my husband appreci- ate very much. FYI, did you ever, once, try to be respectful of this hard working town employee... or did you just approach your trip to his place of employment as beneath

you? Remember, be responsible for the energy you bring to the situation..?”

“Thumbs up. October 28, 2010 used to

be my very favorite day, now july 9, 2011 is the best day ever! Woo Hoo! There is a God!”

“Thumbs up to summertime! BBQ’s, the beach, the mountains, the lakes, time with family and friends. Happy Fourth of July to everyone! Don’t ever take your independence for granted!”
