THE BRITISH FIREWORKS CHAMPIONSHIPS 16 – 17 August Plymouth Hoe The most anticipated event in the city's annual events calendar will see thousands of spectators heading up to the Hoe for two evenings of entertainment culminating in spectacular fireworks displays from six companies seeking the coveted title of British Firework Champions. The event can be viewed from Plymouth Hoe with entertainment

FLAVOUR FEST 19 – 21 August Big Screen to Place de Brest, Plymouth’s local produce extravaganza Flavour Fest 2011 returns for its eighth year. A major part of the Plymouth Summer Festival, Flavour Fest takes place from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 August 2011 in the city centre Piazza and is a highlight of the south west’s food and drink calendar. Running from the Big Screen to Place de Brest, Flavour Fest 2011 will have more than 100 food stalls packed with tasty offerings from fine food producers all across the south west. 34TH AMERICAS'S CUP SERIES 10 September All Day Plymouth Hoe Plymouth, is as the second stop in the inaugural America’s Cup World Series (AC World Series). The event will be held September 10-18, 2011, and will feature both fleet and match racing. Councillor Vivien Pengelly, leader of Plymouth City Council, said: “We are thrilled that Plymouth has been selected to be a host city for the America’s Cup World Series. Plymouth’s outstanding waterfront, its rich maritime heritage and its many attractions make it a perfect venue for this event.
