For those who have yet to experience Chloe's, what is the ethos behind the restaurant? The ethos behind the restaurant is basically to cook the food I love, in a small friendly environment, that would create a little French romantic haven and also support my new family. It started off as a very simple idea but has grown into what is now a fine dining restaurant which has lots of "friends" just as much as "customers". Chloe's has become so much more than just a restaurant to us, its a lovely friendly social outlet too. The whole idea behind the size and location of the

Situated in the heart of Plymouth's business community and with a growing reputation for excellent Modern French cuisine, Chloe's Restaurant in Princess Street offers a unique fine dining experience. InPlymouth's Craig Maplesden spoke to Head Chef Didier Franchet about the ethos behind Chloe's, where his love of food originated, as well as why customers are seeing a lot more of him these days!


restaurant was so that it would be a friendly place that everyone felt welcome and that they belonged. We wanted to put an emphasis on the romance of food and eating out whilst still being very special so you felt it had been "a real find" when you came across us. You do have to look for us mind you, we don't jump out at you off a main street, so we don't get much passing trade. So its more that you come looking for us and find something special. Odd theory we thought but it has paid off over the past 6 years and we are going from strength to strength - even through the recession!
