The Gay Photographers Network meets monthly in


central London for the shar- ing of knowledge and ideas about photography. Apart from holding an annual ex-


hibition, the group also un- dertakes workshops, photo


walks and photo challenges and regularly holds talks by experts from different fields of photography.

prestigious strand gallery. the exhibition will be opened by actor and singer toyah willcox, who said: “i am delighted to be invited to open the gay Photographers network exhibition: more guys hanging. it’s such a great mixture of talent and creativity and in support of such worthy charities. to see collective works such as these intensifies the individual visions of each and every photographer. it is inspiring.” the exhibition will feature over 40


photographers (professionals and talented amateurs) displaying work covering a wide range of genres from portraits to cityscapes, abstracts to landscapes, nudes to reportage. it includes work by published photographers, dean stockings, Zach burns, gaz, and leigh carter as well as images from david cook and neil young who have recently had solo exhibitions in the


capital. deputy mayor of london, richard barnes commented that this year’s showcase was “a wonderful expression of the artistic flair made by london’s lgbt communities; such events energize london’s cultural fabric.” the photos exhibited will be available for sale with prices to suit all pockets but there will be an opportunity to win limited edition prints in a charity auction/prize draw held over the course of the week to raise money for the disabled Photographers society and london friend. “we are extremely grateful to the gay Photographers network for choosing to support our appeal to buy our lgbt community centre,” explained matthew halliday, chief executive, london friend.
