THEY’RE SO-HOTTIE
new to Pride is the so-hottie comPetition to find the gay girl and boy ‘Personality of the year’.
the “so–hottie” competition, a search to find the gay personality of the year, will see bars from across soho put forward a contestant to be crowned mr or miss so-hottie 2011 at a live final on friday 1 July at shadow lounge. Pride are looking for lgbt talent, brains and beauty to be showcased in the inaugural mr or miss so-hottie talent pageant. the winner will lead this year’s Pride Parade on 2 July. bars from across soho will be sending their brightest and best talents to this exciting event,
with the finalists coming together to slug it out in rounds including: swimwear and Pride knowledge, before telling the audience and judges what they hope to achieve during their reign as mr or miss so-hottie. finalists will model outfits donated by
famous soho brands Prowler and leintia–xtg. all proceeds from this event will go to the Pride london charity. after the gruelling final leg of competition, the winning contestant will receive the chance to take pride of place at the head of this year’s Pride london Parade through the streets of london on saturday 2 July before being officially crowned on the main stage in trafalgar square. those sending contestants to represent them
at the final include: 79cxr, circa, the duke of wellington, the admiral duncan, the ku bar chain and Prowler. speaking about the event, Pride’s festival
director dr Patrick williams said: “Pride is all about celebrating the diversity of the lgbt community across london and throughout the uk, standing up against homophobia and trans- phobia and having a great time, so i am delighted that as part of this year’s Pride festival. so- hottie will give lgbt people the chance to show soho their talents and their attributes.” the event will open with a spectacular dance
show that will see all the contestants involved in a choreographed routine that will equal any miss world or miss universe competition - absolutely not to be missed!

Take a photographic tour through Soho and down memory lane to cel- ebrate Gay Pride through the years. Iconic images depicting London’s gay pride parades over the last 40 years are to be put on display in bars across Soho to al- low visitors to learn more about the fight for LGBT rights in a unique event from 23 June.
Those viewing all of the prints will be entered into a draw to win a special prize contributed by Prowler, the iconic Soho fashion and lifestyle store.
Pride London is calling for anyone with images of Pride events to contribute to the exhibition with the best being fea-
tured in a very special souvenir album published next year to celebrate London’s hosting of World Pride 2012.
the prints will be displayed in the following venues between 23 June and 3 July: Candy bar, Circa, CXr79, Ku-bar (frith and lisle street), the edge, Village and yard. Visitors will receive a stamp in each bar allowing them to combine an evening out in Soho’s premier bars with an education on the past four decades of the fight for lGBt rights and protection from discrimination. once they have visited all of the bars and seen all of the prints they can enter a draw to win a very special mystery prize.
