Bertram Construction completes $10 million project, bringing employment and luxury to the city

The city of Barrie will be getting a boost later this month when the new BMW and MINI dealership opens. Located on a 3.3 acre plot of land at Byrne Dr. and Essa Rd., the $10-million project is a joint effort be- tween Bertram Construction and Design, Toronto-based architects RH Carter and Georgian International.


The 24,300 sq. ft., two-story building will feature 10 service bays, four drive


through bays and an attractive, state-of-the- art showroom. The dealership is also ex- pected to bring many jobs to Barrie, whose motto is fittingly: “The people are the city.” Headed by Lisa Bertram, Bertram Con- struction has a wealth of experience erecting auto dealerships, having previously worked on sites for Lexus and Mazda. Founded over 75 years ago, Bertram is a family-owned business whose annual volume is approxi- mately $30 million. However Bertram is not
