Avon Barrier Company has warned that parking areas and access routes to large public venues such as shopping malls need to consider a wide range of vehicle access control measures in preparation for potential terrorist attacks. The company has a full range
of vehicle control barriers, from high usage parking barriers and general security barriers through to crash tested counter terrorism barriers – often installed in high risk delivery and service areas - capable of withstanding a 7500KG
truck travelling at 50mph. Joanne Smallwood, Avon
Barrier Company marketing manager, said: “Even everyday vehicle access should now be considered against potential terrorist attack and products specified accordingly. While crash-tested, anti-terrorist options will never be the cheapest solution, they do provide an important level of confidence by offering a proven performance criteria which is vital for both the specifier and the people and sites being protected.”
director of Q-Park said: “This is the third year we have supported the Liver Birds and it’s a real pleasure to know that we can help such a worthy cause. Our car park hosts
ensured all the participants felt safe going from and to their cars in the early hours of the morning.” The Roy Castle Lung Cancer
Foundation is committed to beating lung cancer by providing support groups for those who want to stop smoking and by funding research to identify people who are at especially high risk of developing the disease. Clare Trevorrow, community
fundraising manager for the charity, said: “We’re thankful to Q-Park for supporting us once again. It’s reassuring for our walkers to know there’s somewhere safe and affordable they can leave their cars which encourages more participants to take part.”
