can earn his MBA. There is not a lot of free time amid school, work and projects at home, but Mac still finds time to take his three daughters on dates, play Old Maid, and everyone’s favorite: turn the iPod on and dance! He also makes the best homemade bread! For that and many more reasons, I nominate my sweet husband to be Dad of the Year. Julie Larsen

ROLE MODEL: First runner-up Kyle Rice of Sun Groves, who spends a lot of time with his children, is holding Kendall, 2, with wife Angela and children, from left, Jacob, 9, Alexis, 7, and Josh, 4.
The thing I admire most about my husband, Kyle, is his commitment to being the best dad ever. He is there for the important things, to encourage, to love and to protect. He is a blessing in the lives of our four children. He works hard to provide and gives me the opportunity to stay home. He exercises before sunrise to avoid missing time with his children. He coaches them in basketball and soccer. He dances, sings, reads and prays with them. He donates blood, serves at church, always lends a hand and never met a stranger … an amazing role model. But the income he provides lets me stay at home with the kids. In addition to work, Mac attends school in the evenings two times a week so he
