Year 5 - you should enrol on this course if you have four years’ working knowledge which you wish to consolidate. Year 6/6a - you will have studied the language for at least five years and will have a good general vocabulary and understanding of grammar. Year 7/7a - you will have six years’ language experience or a recent AS Level and will develop your independence in all of the skills. Year 8/8a - you should enrol on this course if you have already studied the language for at least seven years and wish to develop your skills further. Advanced Conversation - this course is for learners who have at least eight years’ experience of the language, studied at university or lived in the country. Qualification opportunities GCSE German - this course is suitable for students with a minimum of three years’ experience of the language. Please speak to a member of the languages team before enrolling on this course if you have not studied with us before. AS Level Spanish - this course is suitable for learners with a recent, high GCSE grade. Please speak to a member of the languages team if you have a different qualification/experience before enrolling on this course. Diploma in Translation - this distance learning course is for graduates or translators wishing to obtain a formal qualification. In order to enrol on this course you will need to complete a test translation. Please contact us for details.
Asset Languages Qualifications We will be offering you the opportunity to sit an Asset Languages qualification independently from the course chosen. The advantage of this is that you can choose the stage and skills most appropriate for you r needs and abilities. If you would like to follow this path you will need to attend one of the free Asset Advice sessions. There will be an additional charge relating to the assessment(s) chosen.
