Could you give us an introduction to designmynight and why it is so unique?
www.designmynight.com is London’s first price comparison site for pubs, bars and clubs. Any night. Any budget. It aims to deliver the insider track on the best pubs, bars and clubs to suit all pockets and all tastes. It’s the new Londoner’s guide to quality yet price conscious nights out.
Get the low-down on the latest drink deals, promotional offers and discover the real reviews on what places are hot or not in the busy London landscape. Designmynight also offers a completely free concierge service: With all our contacts around London we can find and book the perfect venue for special
occasions, birthdays, hen-do’s, corporate parties etc... and true to our motto we will work with the venue to get the perfect deal to suit our clients’ budget for that night.
What has been the biggest obstacle you’ve had to overcome? Cash! Even as an internet start-up, which has low overheads. It required a lot of bargaining, future payment deals and using the finished site to help people who have helped us out. To get going you need to pull in all your contacts you possibly have, use social networking to reach the right people and try and charm as many people as you can!

A crucial part of getting your business off the ground is being able to sell your idea- give us your 2min pitch. Invoiceberry is a simple and easy-to-use online invoicing software for freelancers, sole traders and small businesses in mind. Businesses can create invoices with a few clicks, which then can be viewed, printed and sent from any computer in the world. Key benefits are that businesses save time and money invoicing clients; business can keep track of payments and expenses; businesses look more professional; businesses improve their cash flow and get paid faster.
What sort of obstacles have you encountered and overcome? It’s hard to start a new business in a foreign country I think. It’s not only the language barrier, but also the cultural differences, different practices in business and different laws.
Where do you see you and your business in 3 years time? I want to grow Invoiceberry, make it even simpler, easier to use and better. I want to help small businesses and our customers to concentrate on their business and let us care about the “boring stuff”. We are aiming for about 10,000 customers in the next 3 years. It’s all about making an impact, helping businesses to grow and thereby helping the economy.
