Geology Tour 2: Having a close look at Devonian reef rock along Highway 1 east of Canmore


From Canmore Mine #2 Portal to the Surprising Story of Yamnuska


Start your engines! Geology Car Caravans are set to role again. Well-known geologist and author Ben Gadd, now a Canmore resident, will be leading a car caravan every other Sunday from May 29th through September 4th.


The tours begin at 10:30 am at the museum. You drive your own vehicle as part of a short caravan that follows Ben to seven fascinating places in the Bow Valley between Canmore and Seebe. Bring family and friends! Return time is about 4:30pm. Each stop offers outstanding geology and local history.


Cost for the tour is $30 for members (non-members $40), youngsters 13 and under are free.

NEW THIS YEAR: Ben will lead a full-day car caravan from Canmore to the Crowsnest Pass area. This special trip will be held on August 21st. See the wonders of Kananaskis Country and the Pass as you never have before. A tour of the Bellevue Mine is included.
