Wakeboarding park from Page 1 Amenities and use

“This facility will attract local and regional tournaments of the World Wakeboard Association, but its beauty is that when the pro competitions are done, residents can play, too,” says Todd Arnold, chairman/ CEO and co-founder of 1440 Cable Factory. “Families from the Valley and nearby states, including kids as young as 6 years old, will be able to use it.” “No experience, equipment, or boat is needed to enjoy our facility,” says Matt Shannon, 1440 Cable Factory vice president of operations and co-founder.” In a safe and fun environment for all ages, we offer lessons and equipment rentals to reduce the cost of learning the sport. With our resort atmosphere built in, it’s just like spending a day at the beach with your entire family.”

The venue will include a 30,000-square-foot building with a main showroom for rentals and sales, and an upstairs sports bar / restaurant with a viewing balcony.

“Patrons can choose to ride the cable or just hang out and enjoy many other amenities offered within the park,” Shannon says. “Our facility can host international competitions, corporate events, weddings and parties. We also will work with nearby universities to support their wakeboarding clubs and help to create a P.E. course curriculum.”

Choosing Chandler

The city is beautiful and new with the best park system in the County and Chandler residents are all about outdoor activities and family-friendly parks. When 1440 approached the city with our beachfront, resort style cable park focused on entertaining the

whole family, the city was all over it,” Shannon says. “This is a win for Chandler all the way around,” says Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny. “Not only will this give Chandler families another choice for entertainment, it will help drive Chandler as an economic engine.” “With more than 1,000 wakeboarding parks in the world, 60 in Germany alone, the United States is underserved. Our community is getting in on the ground fl oor,” says James Smith, City of Chandler economic development specialist.
