All business – Conley fifth-graders’ study of business, economics, money management and free enterprise recently culminated with a fieldtrip to J.A. BizTown, where they worked together in businesses, selling goods and services to other fifth-graders to help pay off their businesses’ loans. Students used checks and debit cards to purchase items and had to keep track of money in their accounts. Business efforts included running a radio station, cable television station, newspaper, café and more. —Allison Thomas

Thanks due – CTA teachers and staff thank the PTO for organizing an incredible Teacher Appreciation Week. The decorated doors and delicious lunch were fabulous. Thanks to students and their families for treating our staff so special. It was a wonderful week. On stage – Fourth graders have been busy preparing a “Living Wax Museum.” Each student has researched someone well known in Arizona and / or important to Arizona’s history. The students dressed up as famous Arizonans to teach about Arizona and its history. They presented this information to third graders and parents. New PTO – Congratulations to the newly elected PTO board, and thanks to the outgoing members. CTA appreciates their hard work and time put forth for the school. Class of 2017 – Sixth graders at had a great time celebrating their promotion to junior high with a party at Kiwanis wave pool. --Sue Bowers
