Gilbert student faces cancer, A free full-length SAT or ACT practice test is offered from 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., helps with marrow donations

Carolyn “Ceci” Christiansen would graduate from Gilbert High School in 2012 – if she were well enough to attend school. Instead, friends say the 16-year-old to has to fi ght cancer practically in isolation due to the delicacy of her immune system. She narrowly escaped death through a “beat the odds” bone marrow match with her brother, and now has helped increase the national bone marrow registry by thousands “through her dedication and commitment to raising the community’s awareness about how easy it is to save a life.”

She was recently featured in AZ Teen Magazine at www.azteenmagazine.com/ real-life.php?article=793 and she is also featured in the April issue of Raising Arizona Kids magazine.

“I think this young woman would be an inspiration to your readers,” says friend Diana Shaw. “She sure has been to all of us who know her. And even more importantly, she has an important message to share that we all should be aware of.” Visit Ceci’s website at www.cecisclimb.com for more details.
