“Thumbs down to the woman that was stopped on Mammoth Road this morning (Wed 5/25) near Hillside Store. This is a very busy road and if you want to stop to talk to your friend on the side of the road you should pull over safely. I could not believe when the women actually yelled at me to wait a minute
Deb Ryan and her appearance. The paper should utilize its right to refuse to print such nasty, personal and objectionable comments. There is no place for that anywhere.”

for tooting my horn in a ‘friendly’ manner after waiting for them to proceed. Not only is this very unsafe, I had kids in my car that are not too far from license age and really do not want them thinking it is ok to just stop in the middle of the road to talk to your friends.”
“Thumbs up to my
wonderful husband, Paul! We finally did it! I couldn’t possibly love you more and I know you will be the best daddy in the world!”
“Thumbs down to House Speaker William O’Brien’s betrayal of all New Hampshire voters. With record attendance by 377 out of 400 state representatives, two weeks notice and all interested parties able to be present to vote on whether to sustain or override the governor’s veto of HB
“Thumbs down. I requested that the TU/ TD below be published signed. You did not. Why? Please reply. If you mean to discourage signed contributions, then your policy should so state! -Annemarie Hargreaves. ‘Thumbs down’ to misinformation! TU/TD May 20th: ‘It is reported that we need 2 new fire trucks for the proposed new station.’ Wrong! During the round table discussion on the consequences of the round- about, the Fire Chief mentioned that in the normal cycle of replacing apparatus, there will be 2 needed in the not
too distant future. They will not fit into the old bays, because they are now being built larger (not ‘Brinks trucks’). --Signed Anne Hargreaves.”
“Thumbs up to Linda Mahoney! We miss
week. The Challenger Little League is not affiliated with the school district in any way and therefore when we see these people out there volunteering their time, we know that it is from the heart that they give of themselves. From all of the player families to each one of you, thank you so much for giving of your time!”
“Thumbs up! I like living in Pelham, its a small comfortable town, I love the people here and all the programs for the kids, I’ve made so many good friends here for life! Let Windham keep their high school, wait until they get their tax bills! Let their sports teams continue to have losing seasons because they don’t have enough people. Our solution is to buy the house next to Pelham High, build an addition and renovate!”
“Thumbs up to wide angle lenses, black and Harris’ turkey dinners!”
“Thumbs up to the girls RESIDENTIAL COMMERCIAL
working the free carwash and bake sale Saturday at the fire station! You girls were excited about what you were doing and about raising money toward a great cause!!! It’s good to see kids get involved and making a difference! Way to go girls!”
“Thumbs up to Mr. Corran

474, O’Brien refused to let the issue come to a vote. Why? Because he did not have the votes to get the outcome he preferred. He needs to remember that he was elected to represent the voters of New Hampshire. Now he’s saying the override vote may come up without any prior notice. All representatives should stand up against this stunt. It is a betrayal of your responsibilities to the voters who elected you to participate in this kind of procedural game playing. Shame on any Representative who helps the speaker pervert democracy in this way. Your constituents are watching and we will remember.”
“Thumbs up. Just want to give a big ‘thumbs up’ to the nice man on Sherburne Road today who stopped his car to help a small turtle cross the road. He picked up the lil’ guy and walked him across the street. Poor thing never would have made it with out your help. Thumbs up to you!”
“Thumbs up to our baby girl, Shelby! We are so blessed to have the best girl in the world! We can’t believe you are 6! You are growing up so quickly. Happy Birthday Sweetie, Mommy and Daddy love you sooo much!”
“Thumbs down to the PWN for printing that absolutely hateful ‘thumbs’ on May 27 about

you on the Pelham School Board! Everything you said so far has come true and the school board was just too stupid to listen. Now look where we are - nowhere! You brought common sense to the board - something I don’t think we’ll see again.”
“Thumbs up to Deb Ryan. She volunteers her time to better her community. She runs with such dedication Pelham softball and gives the girls a league of their own to play in. Thank you Deb! ‘Thumbs down’ to the individuals who so ruthlessly attack her in this forum every week...what exactly do you give back to your community? My guess is absolutely nothing.”
“Thumbs down to Lenny Lathrop for allowing that garbage about Deb Ryan to be published in your paper. You are a (expletive deleted), you’ll do anything to (expletive deleted) out your paper, you (expletive deleted, expletive deleted)!”
“Thumbs up, a huge ‘thumbs up,’ to all of the buddies and coaches that make the Challenger Little League happen. Week after week on Saturday mornings we see dedicated teenage volunteers who get up early rather than sleep in, and we see school personnel show up to volunteer their time to coach, despite already having put in a long work

and Mr. Horrigan’s high school newspaper article. We don’t need Pelham’s headaches but we would gladly take any of Pelham’s money for any reason, especially to pay for any update or additions to ‘our’ school. What I don’t understand is why Pelham’s school board will gladly give us their money but won’t invest in their own existing school properties. But if they want to give us their money, we‘ll take it.”
“Thumbs down, a real big
‘thumbs down’ to the Pelham businesses along Rte 38 (Bridge Street) from the Dracut line up to Salem. I am just totally disgusted with the landscaping and the cleanliness of the lots. I don’t understand why they can’t help beautify Pelham a little. Please.”
“Thumbs up to the following local businesses
for allowing the Pelham Outlaws and Lady Outlaws Lacrosse Teams to can at your establishments this past Memorial Day Weekend: Alicia’s Diner, Sovereign Bank, 1st Chance Convenience, Gage Hill Farms, Hillside Convenience, Discount Madness, Beaver Valley Farms, Mammoth Road Convenience, and Market Basket (Nashua). I would also like to thank everyone who dropped a donation into the cans, you are helping further a great
- CLIP AND SAVE - organization for our kids! :)”
“Thumbs up to Windham voters for building a great High School. You should be proud of your accomplishment. Pelham needs a new High School. To the 58.6% that voted in favor of a new High School it’s time to move forward with new energy and effort for a 21st century High School for Pelham. State funding is gone, if ever to return. It’s time for Pelham Citizens to stand up for better education for our students. Its evident Windham doesn’t want us. Let’s begin the process once again for building a new High School in Pelham.”

“Thumbs down to the yellow house at the
Pelham Elementary School entrance. Pick up your beer cans and mow your lawn. I didn’t think that house could look any dumpier.”
“Thumbs up. By the way, it’s amazing what a property improvement will improve the situation. Most suitable, most economical, and most self-sustaining solution all along the way. Miss Mahoney and Miss Dube’s high school improvement ideas were always voted down. So I guess you can’t have it both ways. Reject improvement and then complain afterwards. I’m suppose you didn’t impose and pay your neighbor for his property usage and go build yourself a new home. That’s what you preach. This 5-knuckle-head-board continues going no where fast…‘winning.’”
