Southeast Alberta boasts many unique qualities that set us apart from other regions and we can be proud of the diverse landscape that we have. This landscape and the op- portunities within it provide us with many unique options for businesses from the energy and manufacturing sectors to the food and agricultural industry.
This month features a special look into our food industry to highlight our local producers and how they have made Southeast Alberta their loca- tion of choice. From the many green- houses in our area, to our local meat processors and producers, to the lo- cal Farmers’ Market, and the many restaurants that boast a local home- grown flavour, we can be proud of what our businesses offer in South- east Alberta. We wanted to take this opportunity, particularly during our growing season, to highlight this vi- tal industry and how homegrown products are used in our local busi- nesses.
We encourage you to use this month’s featured Dining Guide, high- lighting where to go in Southeast Al- berta when looking for a place to eat. We hope that you find a new place to visit this summer through the array

Our pacesetter will also provide a glimpse into the restaurant industry and what it takes to make it; learning to adapt and change in your busi- ness, to make it work for you and your customers. As business own- ers you are always presented with challenges and we hope that our pacesetters each month inspire you to implement new ideas and strate- gies in your own business.
We continue to encourage our read- ers to submit ideas and articles for our magazine, to nominate someone for a pacesetter feature and to pro- vide us with feedback on what you want to see in our monthly maga- zine. We want to hear your VOICE.
