Clarion Events announces team restructuring for their Retail Trade Shows


Clarion Events has announced former Show Director, Neil Gaisford [pictured], will now be managing the diverse portfolio of shows as Retail Portfolio Director and the appointment of Raj Gill as Show Director for Pulse and Top Drawer.


The Prime Minister visits


Portmeirion Group factory Thursday 28th April 2011 was yet another very special day for Portmeirion Group in what is turning out to be a seminal year for the company, with a visit to the Head Offi ce and factory by the Prime Minister, the Rt Honourable David Cameron, during his tour of the Midlands and surrounding region. Lawrence Bryan, CEO of Portmeirion Group [pictured] and Dick Steele, Non-Executive Chairman had the pleasure and privilege of showing the Prime Minister around the factory. During his visit the Prime Minister met a group of pottery decorators


toured the factory and the showroom. The Prime Minister was also shown key pottery designs including the Royal Worcester commemorative china which celebrated the recent wedding of HRH Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton. Speaking from the Portmeirion Group factory, The Rt Hon David


Cameron said: “I was delighted to meet with Portmeirion Group today. The Potteries remain hugely important to the UK manufacturing sector; it is vital we continue to invest in the skills and workforce to ensure that the British pottery industry continues to thrive.”


Commenting on the visit, Dick Steele said: “It was a huge honour that the Prime Minister was able to take the time to visit us in Stoke on Trent today. We are greatly appreciative of his support for Portmeirion Group and the Potteries as a whole.”


In celebration of his visit, Portmeirion Group presented the Prime Minister with the Number One piece of the limited edition Royal Worcester Lion Head vase, created to commemorate the recent royal wedding together with some Spode Paddington Bear and Portmeirion Very Hungry Caterpillar sets for his children. Portmeirion Group was recently awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade. This award recognises the Company’s substantial growth in overseas earnings and overall outstanding achievement in International trade over the last three years.
