REAL WEDDINGS | Felicia & James

How did you two meet? We met in high school while both working on the school play.

How long was your engagement? We were engaged for just about two years.

What inspired your wedding theme? We love the fall and were inspired by the gorgeous look and feel of the North Fork of Long Island and the vineyards during that time.

What inspired your wedding color pallet? My favorite color is red, and Jimmy’s is orange. Brown was a good neutral to go with both of those and fit with the autumn theme.

What was special about where you got married? We both really loved the fact that we were able to have our ceremony outside with the beautiful vineyard as the backdrop.

What do-it-yourself projects did you do? I put together our favors, which were boxes of Jordan Almonds, which are traditional at Italian weddings. I included a poem I found about their significance in each box. Jimmy made our website which was a great way to personalize it and have all of the information we wanted on there for our guests.

What advice do you have for other brides? Planning a wedding can be both a very exciting and very stressful time, and it certainly was for me. It is important to remember that ultimately it is about having those you love most there with you while you make a very important step in life with your partner. It’s a right of passage that should be celebrated, but be sure to remember how wonderful what you are celebrating is. You are celebrating the love you and your husband share and your commitment to each other.
