REAL WEDDINGS | Flo & Brad

How did you two meet? I was living in NYC and was planning on moving back to Seattle where Brad was living. I was on Match.com and figured I would search for guys in that area to do some research. Brad kept coming up on my searches and I decided to reach-out. We exchanged emails, then phone calls and within a few weeks he was flying out to NYC to visit me for the first time. The two of us have been inseparable ever since.

How long was your engagement? Our engagement was eleven months and it flew on by. We managed to take care of the big stuff (flowers, music, food, etc) in the first few months. The next several months were spent working on the favors, invitations, Brad built the arch, whether or not to have chair covers and all the other little details. Like the saying goes, the devil was in the details. The big things all seemed to fall in place, it was the details that took the time. Luckily we kept up and the short period just before the wedding flew on by without any major hiccups. That was certainly due to the help of our closest friends coming out early to help with any last minute preparations.

What inspired your wedding theme? Even though it was a late summer/fall wedding we had more of a spring type attitude. Light, bright green was a common thread in everything. Whether that color was chosen subliminally for a budding relationship or because it was common as an architectural color while Brad was in design school, it felt fresh and right and we went with it. We both like contemporary, but without the cold institutional, feel so we wanted to add “life” where we could. When people walked into our wedding, we wanted them to know that it was "Flo & Brad's Wedding". Our personalities showed through in all our details.

What inspired your wedding color pallet? Light, bright green was a common thread in everything. Whether that color was chosen subliminally for a budding relationship or because it was common as an architectural color while Brad was in design school it felt fresh and right and we went with it. To stick with the contemporary but personal theme, we matched the informal green with the formal black & white.
