Something Old, Something New | WEDDING PLANNING
The Flowers: In keeping with the bright, summer theme, Meghan’s bouquet included reds, greens, oranges and yellows all highlighted by white roses. The Bridesmaids’ flowers matched. {Money Saving Tip}: To save money, purchase flowers from your local farmer’s market and create your own wedding bouquets.
The Music: After some debate, Meghan and Jon decided to go with a live band for their reception. If you decide to go with a band, be sure to confirm they can play all of the songs you are hoping to hear at your reception.
The Cake:While searching for the perfect cake, Meghan and Jon came across a photo in a magazine. It was the exact style and look they wanted. To help save on the budget, they took the picture to Publix Super Markets and had it replicated. {Money Saving Tip}: Instead of buying a huge cake to display, you can go with a smaller cake for the table and have larger sheet cakes in the back to cut and plate. This also can allow you to have multiple flavor combinations.
The Shoes:Meghan selected white satin peep-toe pumps for her wedding day shoes. These classic shoes went perfectly with the formal wedding theme.
The Programs: To again save on budget, Meghan and Jon decided to create their programs themselves. The simple yet elegant programs were printed and then dressed up with a small ribbon to match their wedding colors. These easy DIY programs are a great way to save money for your wedding!
