At presstime, this is old news, but for the ... THE BEAT IS GONE
Naples, officially closed on March 14, 2011 following a routine inspection by Collier Code Enforcement officials. The club was sited for safety violations ranging from fire alarm and sprinkler noncompliance to elec- trical issues, resulting in a closure that was supposed to be only temporary. According to various news outlets, owners Kristian and Tiffany Alekov originally planned to bring the building back up to
code and reopen. A much hyped Girls Gone Wild event was scheduled for the following Wednesday, raising suspicions that perhaps the inspection was prompted by disapprov- ing officials. Although it's safe to say that Ultra will be
missed by the college crowd, other local clubs wasted no time making a grab for their business. Voda in Bonita Springs has been slammed every Wednesday for College Night and Loft 59 packed the house during their "Neon Glow Foam Party" on April 21, 2011.
SIN FOR A GOOD CAUSE
From June 8-12, Chic & Company Events will be hosting “Seven Deadly Sins of 007,” a week-long birthday party for DJ 007. All proceeds from the five day event will benefit
the Community Cooperative Ministries Incorporated (CCMI), a food bank in Lee County that provides services like Meals On Wheels and soup kitchens for the homeless. Separate events will be held over a five day period, each themed to represent one of the seven deadly sins: Lust, Anger, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Envy and Pride. Last year’s event raised more than $21,000 and was attended by over 2,000 guests. For more info:

RETRACTIONS, RETRACTIONS... In the March-April 2011 issue, the last
name of this year's PULSE Award winner, Jason Swinford, owner of Planet Smoothie
and FlipFlop Shop, was spelled incorrectly. “PULSE Sports” columnist, Ryan Ryles, was
omitted from the masthead. Pulse Magazine SWFL apologizes for these errors. We try!
