M&H WINS PRINT AWARDS

M&H has won a number of prestigious European Flexographic Industry Association Print Awards for two of its flexible tubes: retailer Next’s Miss N Body Wash and Nature’s Best Hand & Nail Cream. The EFIA Annual Print Awards celebrate the best in flexographic print and are awarded in recognition of outstanding excellence and M&H won the following awards: Highly Commended award for Technical Achievement for the Miss N tube, Silver award for Best New Entrant for the Miss N tube and the Gold award for the Best New Entrant for the Nature’s Best tube. In addition M&H won an Award at Cosmoprof for the Miss N tube in recognition of the new print technology enabling photo-realistic images to be printed directly onto tubes without the need for a label. Both tubes were printed in-house by M&H Plastics on their new hybrid press which has the capability of combining flexographic and silk screen technology. This method of printing significantly increases the capability of the tube decoration process enabling photo-realistic images to be printed directly onto tubes where previously it would have been necessary to apply a separate label. LABEL FILMS REDUCE

WEIGHT AND WASTE Innovia Films, producer of speciality BOPP and cellulose substrates for a variety of packaging and labelling techniques, has launched a new range of films suitable for linerless label applications, Rayoface NB. Typical conversion of linerless labels is by narrow web flexo. Rayoface NB films have been developed for use on Ravenwood Packaging Ltd’s Nobac linerless label applicators. The substrates are available in both white and transparent grades and can replace carton board sleeves and conventional pressure sensitive and wraparound labels. When converted into linerless labels, Rayoface NB films can be used on lidded food trays for meat and fish product packs. As the label is applied directly to the pack, a reduction of over 30% is

made in both labelling waste and weight. For more information call 01697 342281, email filmsinfo@innoviafilms.comor visit www.innoviafilms.com.
