Exclusive flooring

As part of its extensive range of solid and engineered wood flooring, James Lathams’ new flooring division is now offering two new high quality products on an exclusive basis. Timura®

is a

solid timber floor which uses only FSC certified European hardwood. The European grown species used in Timura®

are given the appearance of tropical timber which, as well as boasting the durability of tropical wood, utilise the new Vacu3 heat process which ‘seals-in’ the colour, increasing its longevity. Using long boards and the distinctive bevel, PAR-KY®

veneered floors by

Shinnoki, maintain the look and feel of solid wood flooring, but because they use 25 times less wood than solid wood flooring, as well as no formaldehyde during the manufacturing process, plus environmentally friendly hardened lacquer, they offer significant environmental benefits. PAR-KY® is also easy to care for and install and its ‘uniclic’ jointing system means you can install the boards

, mainly Ash and Beech,

yourself without the need for glue. PAR-KY®

also uses a layer of cork

to produce the feel and sound of walking on a solid wood floor. For further information telephone 01708 681700, email flooring@lathams.co.uk or visit www.bausen.co.uk

Fixing good style

The Easybind collection of professional trim for carpets from Stairrods (UK) converts any width, style or quality of carpet into made-to-measure stair runners and rugs, in so doing significantly expanding the choice of bespoke stair runners. The rope-styled Easybind is applied to the reverse of the cut-length of carpet, neatly locking in the loose fibres of the raw edges and adding an attractive, narrow edging strip to the completed stair runner or rug. Whatever the shape or size of carpet, Easybind is suitable: from the extra wide stair carpets of hotels, clubs and civic buildings to the narrow, spiral stair runners of a period private residence, or the intricacies of fitting a removable carpet in a super yacht. Easybind is versatile, complementing any style of carpet, from fashionable geometric stripes, traditional Persian patterns to plains, and works with any quality, whether tufted or woven and even sisal. The fixing method is discrete and durable and is suitable for both residential and commercial installations. The choice of 23 colours, in a subtle, silk finish, comprises a popular selection of plain hues and stripes. For further information telephone 01207 591176 or visit www.easybind.co.uk

Lightening the load

James Latham is now carrying EUROLIGHT® EUROLIGHT®

, the popular range of lightweight MFC panels. lightweight boards are revolutionising furniture and interior design, with high

stability, low weight and reduced raw material usage. With its stable honeycomb cardboard core and a choice of 3,4 or 8mm thick MFC surface layers, many different finishes can be achieved as well as edge processing. Paul Morson, Lathams’ Melamine Product Champion explained “Current interior design trends

demand the use of thicker materials to convey contemporary design and high quality. EUROLIGHT®

meets such design requirements with a range of attractive decors and textures in

‘chunky’ 38mm and 50mm thicknesses, all available through Lathams and directly from stock.” He continued, “To achieve the same look with

MDF or Chipboard, traditionally, fabricators have had to bond a number of layers together which is not only time consuming and cumbersome but also creates an extremely heavy piece of furniture. EUROLIGHT®

weighs 50 percent less than the

equivalent thickness of MDF or Chipboard offering exciting, practical and aesthetic benefits to architects and interior designers.” The product is already proving popular for a

wide range of applications and as well as winning favour with furniture manufacturers due to its versatility and high quality finish, it is increasingly being specified in both shop fitting projects as well as in the construction of exhibition stands because of its lightweight properties and significant environmental benefits.
