Attendant : Gavin Henderson Gavin has lived in Selkirk all his life and went to Knowepark and Selkirk High School before taking up an apprenticeship as a joiner with Kevin Thompson in Galashiels then A. F. Tough in Selkirk, then working self-employed
for three years before taking a break in Australia for six months when he lived mainly in Brisbane and the Gold Coast area. Since returning last May Gavin has been working in the forestry industry with his dad Elliot. Gavin has always been interested in the Common Riding, being just four years old when he rode the Marches for the first time in 1990, following SB John Wilson and receiving the medal as youngest rider. He has ridden almost every year since, was an Attendant in 2003, 2004 & 2010 to SB’s Gary Guthrie, Colin Squance & Douglas
Attendant : Craig Monks Craig was born on 12 August 1990. He is currently self - employed and loves working in the outdoors. His first experience of horse riding was on Jock Hislops ponies, Jock saw him sitting on a gate and said he was
a natural. Since then he has come on to be Attendant to both Guy Blair in 2008 and James Cheyne in 2009. He is a active member of Selkirk silver Band and often turns out for the Stormers Rugby team.
