New allotments are snapped up
A new set of allotments has been officially opened.
The allotment site at Great Tree Farm in Looe has 30 plots and was opened by Cornwall councillor Armand Toms.
It follows six months of hard work by plotholders to get the site ready for opening.
The plots were taken up almost instantly by a wide range of gardening enthusiasts once the scheme was announced.
There is now a waiting list for the site and anybody wanting to be added to the list should contact Looe Town Council.

Looe Pilot Gig Club excel Looe Pilot Gig Club excelled itself at
the recent World Championships in the Scillies.
Out of 124 teams the Men’s A team came sixth, with the B and C squads, 32nd and 86th respectively.
Ladies results: A team came 23rd; B 84th; and C 111st – fantastic results bearing in mind that last year they were not involved.
The new boat, ‘Talisman’, had it’s first outing with the ‘Vets’ team.
Built by Dave Currah, his wife and sister-in-law rowed in the vets ladies, with nephew Patrick coxing.
They did themselves proud - 37th out of 52. It is a few years since the club put in a vets team.
Looe Pilot Gig Club are now looking forward to their own regatta on Saturday 28 May at Millendreath.
This is to be a Tribute key event in the CPGA fixture list, with over thirty clubs attending.
