RNLI receives town council gift

Representatives of Looe RNLI and the Royal British Legion were presented with cheques for £2,100 each by Looe mayor Jimmy Dingle.

The presentation was made before the start of a recent Looe Town Council meeting.

Mr Dingle said: ‘The RNLI continue to do wonderful work around our

immediate coastline, and the Royal British Legion is, I feel, particularly relevant with our soldiers in action around the world.

A total of £3,200 was raised through various donations, a charity auction and a raffle and then councillor Jim Rothwell made a donation of £1,000 as he has a particular affinity to both charities.’
