Nyanga National Park

The rugged mountains and downs of Nyanga in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands lie in an area of charm and mystery. Here the country’s highest mountain, Mount Nyangani, stands sentinel over far flung peaks, grass-coloured slopes, waterfalls, forested gorges, trout streams and masses of wild flowers. Stretching for 100 km along the border with Mozambique, the district is rich in archaeological sites, lush with tea and coffee plantations and some of the loveliest cottages and hotels nestle in the mountains where log-fires burn in the hearth. Winding scenic roads lead to Africa’s second highest waterfall, Mtarazi Falls, and plains game fill the national park.
