never too late for new technology

We are now two years into online scheduling of our EMS staff with EMS Manager® and we couldn’t imagine doing it any other way! We made the switch to online scheduling in November 2008 and don’t plan on ever looking back. Like most services, we used to do our scheduling on paper at the station. Our members had only one way of signing up for shifts and they had to physically go to the station to do


it. On my end, this involved a lot of beg‐ ging, pleading, and praying to have our open shifts filled. The Deputy Chief or myself typically covered any shifts that weren’t filled.


Then things changed almost overnight. After reading a magazine advertisement for a product called EMS Manager, which touted being able to handle scheduling completely online with 24/7/365 accessibility, I decided to
