BOLLYWOOD COMES TO ABBOTS FOR CHARITY EVENT A

bbots Langley will soon be ringing out to the sound of Bhangra music at a charity

Bollywood Night at Henderson Hall. The evening is being organised by a local mum,

who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and some close friends. Money raised will help local hospices, including the Hospice of St Francis and the Peace Hospice to continue their work. Yvonne Petagine, of Coniston Road in Kings

Langley, was told she had just two years to live in April 2009. However, since then the mother-of -two has been living life to the full and making the most of opportunities and life. Yvonne, 50, has been receiving care from the

Hospice of St Francis and said: “The hospice has been a wonderful support for me and my family, made all the more incredible since it is mainly funded by donations – I plan to raise as much as I can to repay them for my ongoing journey with them.” Later this year Yvonne will be taking part in

the Himalayan Hospice Challenge with around 20 other ladies to raise vital funds. She will be travelling to India to trek through the foothills of the mountains to reach their destination at the Taj Mahal.

sponsorship for the trek. The majority of this will go directly to the hospices. “We wanted to have a fundraising evening with

an Indian theme so a Bollywood Night seemed ideal. “It should be great fun as there will be two DJs

putting on a disco, as well as traditional bhangra music. “People are encouraged to dress in Indian style

clothing and there will also be a bar and a raffle with proceeds going to the hospices. Bollywood Night is on Friday 17 June at the

Henderson Hall, from 7.30pm. Tickets are £20 each and will include delicious Indian food. Tickets can be purchased from Yvonne on
