bbots Langley C.C. are looking forward to the new season with great expectations after last

years fantastic season when the first x1 gained promotion and the u15's won the County Cup. Abbots are again led by veteran Dave Carlisle who thinks this could be a great season for the club. We have without doubt one of the best colts sections in the County and the fact most of the senior sides are made up of players under 19 means we are giving the youth the opportunity to play and they are there on merit not just to make up the numbers. Abbots Langley emphasis on youth is bearing

fruit with lots of players gaining County, Area and District representation. Last season Jay Parmar, Dhiren Solanki, Sam Bailey and Jack Reed all played for the County while lots of others played Area and District. Aussie Mitch Inglis is our overseas player again this year and we are expecting great things from him even though he is a bit quiet at the moment after England winning the Ashes. The first x1 will be

made up mainly of last years players Carlisle, Warner, Smith C, Ingliss, Parmar, Reed, Mehta, Dunstone, Watson. Byrne, Blesson, Handal with the younger players Burgess,Parkins, Metcalfe, Bailey, Solanki, Smith D and Aguise from the second team trying to break through into the first team. Carlisle expects at least two of the four

Saturday teams to gain promotion this season and thinks the club are on the verge of something big. It is certainly a good time for us at the moment and there are exciting times ahead, we have new members joining and are now attracting some of the best local young players around as they know they will be given a chance and looked after at Abbots. Let‟s hope the sun keeps shinning and we at Abbots Langley C.C. have another great season. Abbots Langley C.C. are always on the lookout

for new members, not only players but also social members. If you are interested in joining our club contact Dave Carlisle 01923 449918.
