The Lighting Association, Stand LED406

Stand LED406

The Lighting Association will launch its new LA Performance Verification Scheme at euroLED. With so many bogus claims being made for LED performance and life, the LA scheme will independently test that products meet their manufacturer’s claims. Results will be published on a dedicated website and manufacturers will be allowed to use a special mark on their products and literature. Included in the scheme will be market surveillance under which the LA laboratory will test products where the claims appear to be exaggerated and results will be published. This scheme has been launched in response to a call from manufacturers and professionals alike. The scheme is technology agnostic so luminaires and other lighting technologies can be tested against claims made. Visit the Lighting Association Laboratory stand to discuss registering your product for the scheme. www.lightingassociation.com

Stand LED219

Recolight, Stand LED219 Recolight, the UK’s specialist WEEE compliance scheme for the recycling of gas discharge lamps, will be promoting its free lamp recycling service at the show. Recolight is the leading specialist recycling scheme for lamps. Funded by more than 80 lamp producer members including numerous LED companies, it represents the overwhelming proportion of lamps put on the UK market. As a not-for-profit scheme dedicated to keeping lamps out of landfill, Recolight collects all lamps regardless of manufacturer and can do so free of charge, providing there is a sufficient quantity. In the last three years, Recolight funded the recycling of over 100 million lamps, preventing over a third of a tonne of mercury from entering landfill. www.recolight.co.uk

Stand LED135

Sharp Microelectronics, Stand LED135 It has been difficult to make energy consumption savings in lighting without compromising on light quality. Furthermore, in challenging applications it wasn’t enough to install just one LED. In these cases, several LEDs were used, with the drawback that the light source took up more space thus making it more difficult to control and adjust the individual LEDs. The 15W & 25W MegaZENI models will provide the perfect solution to these problems. Sharp's MegaZENI series radiate with an efficiency of up to 105 lm/W, a luminous flux of up to 2600 lm and are available with a CRI value of up to 93. www.sharpsme.com
