APRIL 2011 Newport Community Forum


Welcome to the Newport Community Forum Newsletter. It’s purpose is to update you on the exciting projects that people are working on for the benefit of our community. We would like to make sure that everyone is kept informed and given the chance to comment and get involved.


Some of the following projects arose from the Newport Community Plan, or from the Area Development Plan and others came about through the work of groups who have now become involved with the Forum.

Newport Play Area


It was apparent that it wasn’t being used as much as it could and, from speaking to a lot of people, it was clear that many weren’t even aware it existed!


Grwp Teuluoedd Trefdraeth - Newport Families' Group was set up by local families aiming to improve the children's play area at the bottom of Lower St. Mary Street.


It’s a lovely spot, away from busy roads, near the school, in the heart of the town and accessible from the estuary path.
