Bright Beginnings families, teachers help Japan

Students, teachers and parents at Bright Beginnings School, a charter elementary school in Chandler, are helping with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan.

Fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders constructed cranes during P.E. time as well as at recess and at home, while first-, second- and third-graders made postcards and “Get Well Soon” cards for Japanese schoolchildren. All of the projects were added to others like them at the sixth annual Children’s Day Kit and Koi Festival held recently at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Phoenix.
