When I was writing about the new creation of Pershing’s former boss, I was thinking of the pun Eyes|Wise|Wiser. It takes stick-to-itivness, patience, skilfulness and nerve. An- tonelli has it all, along with the charisma of choosing the right people to work with. “It’s a pleasure to work with him” I hear people say about him and that’s a great thing which is returned and transformed into top quality work. Moreover, this is a form of moral satisfaction worth thousands of euros. You can’t work with everyone, just as a business plan will be fruitless when there is discord or lack of respect for the team leader. One more thought – again in the same context – is that soon enough boats like Wider, polymorphic, with retractable parts, will start popping out. Those in the sales arena who now underestimate and shrug off the new idea, will soon become the followers and supporters of this innovative thought. Some sassy devils might even claim it as their own inspiration. Nevertheless, the question is: can someone create an haute cuisine delicacy by merely copying the ingredients, by having a dutch treat at the restaurant? I say no.
And I ask again: Could a “form” with outdated ingredients, with no leader, no team, no vision, create something efficient, of premium quality and aesthetic soundness? I say no.
Why hasn’t it happened all these years? Lost in translation, perhaps?
