Glenrock Model Railway Open Days in aid of the RNLI
In the garden of Glenrock Art Studio, Gunnislake Station 10am - 5pm 21st & 22nd May 2011
THE Glenrock Model railway was formed in 1994 in the garden of the Glenrock Art Studio. Since 1999 it has opened to the public once a year to raise money for charity. The railway consists of a 180ft circuit of “O” gauge double track, with three stations, two villages and a castle (and a lifeboat station). The railway, built by well-known local artist Ian Pethers, is in two sections. The first is based on Windsor, which is close to his childhood home and the second is based on the Tamar Valley with replicas of station buildings from Calstock, Gunnislake and Bere Alston.
Once again in 2011 the railway will be opening to raise funds for the RNLI so make a note in your diary now - 21st and 22nd May - for a fascinating day out in a good cause. Light refreshments will be
available along with an RNLI gift stall and the event will form part of the ‘Gardens for the Lifeboats’ scheme. Admission is £2.50, concessions £1.50. There is ample free parking in Gunnislake Station car park.

as a community project and welcomes all through its doors - there is plenty of space for those on wheels!! Any profit made goes back into the Cafe to improve facilities.
Behind the scenes is a dedicated team of volunteers who do their various tasks. Some are members from other churches in the town - some have no church connection whatsoever. However old age, illness, wanting a holiday etc all take their toll and so we are appealing for volunteers to help.
The list of jobs is varied and includes: setting up, cooking; food preparation; making tea and coffee; taking orders, serving; operating the dishwasher; operating the cash register, cleaning and clearing away.
If you would be interested in helping, then come along to the Cafe one Friday and speak to Rev Rog, Revd Phyllis or Roger Darkes (cook) and they will be happy to give you more information. Or telephone Revd Roger Cornish on 01822 614613.
