Does the wide range of mineral products available from Minelco help you to better serve the surface coatings industry? Yes for sure! Minelco supplies a wide variety of products into almost every area of the Coatings Industry and we have many accounts where we may be supplying thousands of tonnes of one product alongside kilo quantities of another. Our Mica, Marble and Dolomite ranges are the most important products for us and whilst we have a significant market share in the UK our state of the art production facility in Moerdijk (Holland) has really enabled us to push forward our Coatings ambitions.

Is the surface coatings industry a key market for Minelco? The Coatings Industry is one of the four industry segments in the Minelco Group (alongside Construction, Polymers, and Refractory Products). Minelco is very keen to grow in this sector there are many many possibilities for both our existing products that we have traditionally supplied here, and also for our other minerals that offer properties such as fire retardancy which are becoming increasingly sought after in the market.
What does Minelco bring to the Coatings Table? The “Mine to End User” strategy that Minelco believes in and promotes is proving to have great importance in this ever more uncertain world. Minelco owns very important and significant Mineral Assets such as our Finnish Mica operation that has long term sustainable reserves to enable us to offer our customers a very stable platform for the future. We do not have to transport this material half way around the world to get to our customers in Western Europe, which means we are not as reliant on fuel prices, nor do we have any export quotas, in short we can offer a very secure available product for years to come, our competition cannot always do this.
