Introduces Federal Agency Procurement Matchmaking Event

he United States Hispanic Cham- ber of Commerce (USHCC) hosted


the 21st Annual Legislative Summit on March 28th through 30th, 2011 at the W Washington Hotel, 515 15th Street in Washington D.C. The Legislative Summit was the leading forum repre- senting the interests and the agenda of the fast growing Hispanic business community. For the first time in its 21- year history, the Legislative Summit included a business matchmaking ses- sion, emphasizing procurement oppor- tunities with federal agencies. “The USHCC is focused on bringing


together members of Congress, gov- ernment leaders, influential Hispanic entrepreneurs and corporate America


to network and develop new business opportunities,” says Javier Palomarez, USHCC President and CEO. “We are introducing our matchmaking event which will give our members access to government agencies in order to ex- plore opportunities, forge relationships and ultimately be awarded contracts.” The 21st Annual Legislative Sum-


mit included industry roundtables that focused on education and the American workforce, healthcare and insurance, technology, small business and environ- mental stewardship. Participants heard from political leaders and visited with key legislators and policy makers. The Federal Agency Procurement Matchmaking Event took place on


March 30, 2011, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm during the USHCC Legislative Summit. Participating Federal agencies and buyers include Amtrak, Depart- ment of Homeland Security/Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Federal Hous- ing Finance Agency, Minority Business Development Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of the Trea- sury, U.S. Health and Human Services, Washington Suburban Sanitary Com- mission, among others.
