Alvirne continued to provide some potent offense as they took their sixth straight victory of the season over Exeter, 12-0, in five innings on Monday, May 2. The Broncos held a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth, thanks to RBI singles by Chelsey Drew and Jenna Giannelli, but the bats exploded for another 10 runs for the victory. Brooke Kennedy, Chelsey Drew, and Delaney Burns all had triples in the offensive explosion. Taylor Carbone twirled another masterpiece, allowing only two hits and striking out eight, giving her a total of 108 on the season. Junior Delaney Burns had a great defensive contest with two superb plays in the field. The Lady Broncos now have an 8-2 record on the season and have errorless games for the last five contests. The Lady Broncos blanked Bishop Guertin on Friday, April 29, by the score of 5-0. Taylor Carbone hurled her fourth shutout on the season, which included

nine strikeouts, and she allowed only three hits. Katie Donovan got the Broncos on the board with a two-run single and Carbone helped herself out with an RBI as well. Delaney Burns also laced an RBI double and came home on a throwing error. Carbone and Chelsey Drew had two hits each. Jenna Giannelli continued throwing some serious leather around with a diving catch at second base. Earlier in the week, Alvirne soundly defeated Nashua North 13-0 in a five- inning mercy rule game, with Carbone twirling a no-hitter and only one walk away from a perfect game. Carbone’s gem included strikeouts of 13 of the 15 hitters she faced. Jenna Giannelli shined from the offensive side of the plate, going four for four with a single, double, and a pair of triples; Jess Underwood had three hits, Brooke Kennedy and Taylor Carbone had two hits each, and Mikayla Powlowsky, Chelsey Drew, Delaney Burns, and Katie Donovan added one hit each.

In a game against Nashua South, the Lady Broncos found themselves down 4-0 in the first inning on a grand slam by the Panthers, but the Broncos out did that as they scored all eight of their runs in the top of the second inning to go on to an 8-4 victory.

Jenna Giannelli

had a double and triple in the same inning, and Chelsey Drew had two hits in the inning as well. Delaney Burns, Kaela Craven, and Brooke Kennedy each contributed hits as well, and Mikayla Powlowsky drew two walks in the inning. Defensively, Michaela Powlowsky came up with a huge play in the bottom of the second inning, ending a bases- loaded rally by South.
