Abbott E. Rice, Sr.

Abbott E. Rice, Sr., 79, a 40-year resident of Hudson died peacefully at his home in the presence of his loving family on April 28, 2011, following a brief illness. He was born July 31, 1931 in Framingham, MA, son of the late Willard and Dorothy (Eames) Rice. He was also predeceased by a son, James Rice, in July of 2009. Abbott was the husband of Annie (Kempton)

Rice of Hudson with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Abbott was in the Naval Reserves and was Honorably

Discharged in 1958. He was very proud of his education, having earned a Masters of Education and Doctorate of Education degrees from Boston University and receiving Director Emeritus of Placement in 2000 from Northern Essex Community College. Abbott had a career in education that stretched 50 years and included many years at Belknap College and Northern Essex Community College. He also had a 30- year career in the local community and local politics, being very active in Wattanick Grange, a member of the Community Church of Hudson, the Town of Hudson Town Council District 5 Councilor, Town of Hudson Code of Ethics Committee, and the Town of Hudson Conservation Board. He developed the Hudson Community Garden from 1995-1998 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star in Nashua. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Ann Tedeschi and her husband Frank of Plymouth; two sons, Abbott “Rick” Rice, Jr. and his wife Kelley of Hudson, and David Rice and his wife Laurel of Wakefield, MA; seven grandchildren, Sabrina, Troy, Kyle, Bradley, Timothy, Linnea, and Abigail; two brothers, George Rice and his wife Sandy of Cotuit, MA, and Willard Rice, Jr., and his wife Joan of Punta Gorda, FL; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service was held in the Community Church of Hudson, Hudson. Burial was in Newton Cemetery, Newton, MA. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge

Theodore ‘TJ’ Lindquist Police

Theodore “TJ” Lindquist, 32, of Hudson passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. He was born in Nashua on October 31, 1978, the son of John C. and Donna L. (Tilton) Lindquist. TJ was a lifelong Hudson resident. He was educated in the Hudson school system,

graduating from Alvirne High School, class of 1997. He then attended UTI in Chicago, IL, graduating with the class of 1999 with an associate’s degree. He was currently employed as a truck driver for Continental

Paving in Londonderry. He previously worked as a truck driver for Tate Bros. Paving and Hudson Paving. TJ was a true outdoorsmen, he enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping, was a tractor engine enthusiast, enjoyed his trips to Florida to see friends in Plant City, was an avid Patriot fan, and loved attending parties at Bill and Ron Twaroski’s house. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Club and the Sons of the VFW. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Mary Lindquist. He is survived by his parents, John and Donna Lindquist of Hudson; maternal grandparents, Robert and Beth Tilton of Alton; six uncles, Richard Lindquist and his wife Sue of Hudson, Andrew Lindquist and his wife Carol of Hudson, Kenneth Tilton and his wife Marion of Merrimack, Keith Tilton and his wife Hazel of Nottingham, Donald Tilton and his wife Diane of Michigan, and James Tilton and his partner Suzy of Seabrook; two aunts, Joanne Janes and her husband Dana of Alva, FL, and Leatha Anfuso and her husband Steven of Hooksett; as well as many cousins and friends. Pursuant to Article 40 of the March 9, 2004 Annual Town Meeting, and in accordance with RSA 41-14-b, at the Board of Selectmen’s regularly scheduled meetings on May 10 and May 24, 2011, which start at 7:00 PM and are held in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room at 12 School Street, Hudson, NH, the Board shall hold public hearings on Ordinance 11-02, which amends Town Code Chapter 232 with an addition to include a State and Federal Record check to be provided by the applicant when applying for a license.

Residents interested in speaking on this issue are invited to attend these hearings.
