you can take advantage of arange of activ- ities, including kayaking, open canoeing, bell boating, sailing, raft building, wobbly boarding, jet ski rides and banana boating. why not take the opposite route and get as high as you can. Stubbers features its trademark towers, which give users access to climbing, abseil- ing, and an aerial walkway. If you prefer the safety of the ground, then

Stubbers isn’tjust aplace wherefun and excitement takes place. There’snearly 700 years worth of history on


the site, with it first being recorded in 1334. It even gets its name from aMedieval farmer,William Stubbers, who lived there from 1438 to 1463. The site was taken over by the London Borough of Havering in 1965, who leased part of the site for gravel extrac- tion –which later became flooded and are now atop location for lovers of watersports. It became an outdoor sports centre, but


was closed down in 1995. However,help was at hand the following


year,when it was purchased by not for profit firm Stubbers AdventureCentreLtd, and has gone from strength to strength.
