INDULGENCES outrageous by daisy torres & jessica d’nalga It seems that a lot of folks we know were born in April—we had a grand time at the
birthday extravaganza for our very own editor Joel Martens, our handsome friend Nate and the super talented Chef Scotty of Eden. The three studs had all their friends and families gather at Eden for cocktails, yummy food and birthday cake, not to mention tons of dancing and partying. This was just one of many events attended at Eden in April. We had Michael Mack’s
fundraiser with a special performance by the Dream Girls and Judy Tenuta. There was also the “Faux Yourself” event with some of the local bar staff around town dragging it out with special judges Lady Bunny, Tammie Brown and Raven. Congratulations Jerry aka Jasmin on your win, QUEEN! Jessica: Those divas truly worked it out on stage and it was fun to be able to enjoy the night with Raven and Lady Bunny. The Pussycat family was out strutting what our mama gave us. April 25 we attended and performed for Alexa’s special fundraiser for the Tijuana
Orphanage La Gloria, at the Flame. The event also served as the launch of the new Latin Night, Caliente. Now every Monday you have a new place to enjoy Latin karaoke, Latin music and an ever-changing drag show. The evening had a huge turnout, and great performances by local and out-of-town performers who donated their time for a great cause. It was also the stage debut of the new pussycat Michele Ada—the pussycat family is growing. Daisy: It’s always nice to get the family together and all put on a show, especially when it’s for a great cause. Jessica: It is nice but trust me there was too much estrogen in the changing room. May looks like it will be just as busy as April! One event we’re looking forward to is the anniversary of our favorite one-of-a-kind boutique Luigi Vera on Friday, May 13 from 7p.m. to 11p.m. The evening will include a DJ, fashion show, food, drinks and give- aways. We will be on hand to celebrate with Luigi and to check out some new outfits for the upcoming events in our agenda. Jessica: So if there are any boys who need hot clothing, stop by and maybe we will
help you try it on…just maybe! Pride season is already here and we kick off our celebrating with Long Beach Pride’s

As I write this, Jessica and I are getting some well-deserved pedicures while sipping mimosas and reminiscing about the events of the past month. By the way, what do you think of our new pictures? We had a great time doing the photo shoot with photogra- pher Dennis Covey, who put up with 15 outfit changes; a long day’s session of snaping pictures for this column. Just one of the many things that kept us busy in April. Daisy: I was fortunate enough to be invited to the GLAAD Media Awards in L.A. and learned to never leave dress shopping to the last minute! I headed up to the event with the Rage family who looked very dapper. It was a grand event and of course there was an after party, for which a clothing change was required so that I could dance and mingle with everyone. was all sweaty and my hair was a mess from helping you out just zipping up and trying on like 50 dresses! Luckily, in the end we found the perfect match and fit!

downtownlongbeach.org. Jessica: I’m so excited to see Ninel Conde. She is so hot! I mean, I would go lesbian! We are really looking forward to the Action Summer Party at Boudoir on Sunday,
May 29. Boudoir is a fantastic new club in downtown, it’s very sexy and kind of kinky and the party is sure to be amazing. The night includes a special performance by the new hot performer Zayra (check the interview with her on page 52). With three levels of entertainment, a dance floor, VIP booths, go-go dancers, a human aquarium and peek a boo holes, this club was made for those of us with dirty minds!
