THE NETHER-REGIONS: Your back, your butt and your balls. There I said it. Some men like it
SKIN: The skin on your body needs to be stunning. If you are
rough and scaly or (horrors!) pimply, you need to treat the skin on your back, ass and legs like the skin on your face. It’s summer. At some point you are gonna bare your arms, legs and maybe even go shirtless. Exfoliate! Use an all-over body scrub to remove dead skin and promote cell turn over. If you are prone to break outs on your back or butt, use a body wash that has either glycolic or salicylic acid. My recommendation? Go to your neighborhood drugstore and pick up pHisoderm Anti-Blemish Body Wash. It’s cheap, has salicylic acid, and smells good—not too perfumey—and it works better than more expen- sive body washes!
natural. Some men don’t feel clean unless they are sporting a Brazilian. Whatever team you play on, (I’m Team Slick) there are myriad ways to tackle down low. And even if you don’t want to go completely bald, every man should trim down there. You know where. It’s only polite! A few options for removing hair: Trimming; you can use scissors or an electric razor. I don’t know about you but I’m not into handling sharp things so I opt for an electric trimmer—another option is a razor. Again, I’m not down with a razor but if you must, you might try a ladies’ ra- zor. They are made to go places your face shaver isn’t. My personal fave is depilatory cream. You slather it anywhere you don’t want hair (the crack and lower back) and rinse it away—easy, breezy and beautiful in 10 minutes. Some guys even wax but I find it painful. Hot and painful! And the pulling out of the hair is so violent! Plus waxing is pricey since it’s best left to the pros. For Shavers: I recommend the Panasonic Pro-Curve Wet/Dry Shaving System. It’s great for sensitive skin. And what’s more sensitive than down-low? It’s rechargeable and you can use it in the shower! For Team Slick: I like Nair for Men Speed Cream. It’s great for large areas in case you want to shave your legs, it’s good for sensitive areas and it stays in place! Just be careful and don’t leave it on too long! No one wants that burned.
NAILS & FEET: Nothing says caveman like dirty, unkept fingernails. Nothing, that is, unless it’s burrow-digging Yeti feet. If you
have long, thick toenails, calluses and corns, hair on your toes and cracked skin or rough heels, get a mani/pedi right away! And if you can’t have it done professionally, then do it yourself. Soak your feet in warm, soapy water until the skin softens. Use a foot scraper on the bottom of your feet and on the heels to remove dead skin. Don’t go too far, we wouldn’t want you to bleed! But really work on those calluses. Dry your feet and toenails. With a sharp nail clipper, cut your nails straight across until they no longer extend over your toe. We don’t want to see any white but don’t clip too closely to the skin. Use a nail file to make sure the edges of the nail are smooth. Move the nail file in one direction across the top of your toenail until smooth. Don’t cut your cuticles! To tame cuticles on your toenails, use a cuticle stick to push them back. Don’t trim! Cutting your cuticles can lead to infections. Ouch! A pedicure is a great way to pamper oneself. Once you are finished, try massaging your feet. Nothing is more relaxing. For rough, tough feet I love Kiss My Face Peppermint Foot Scrub. The peppermint tingles and it naturally exfoli- ates with pumice, walnut shells and organic herbs.
And that, my friends, is how you buff, puff and pamper your body from head-to-toe. You and your skin will be touchably smooth, clear and sexy. M*
