CRIME AND PUNISHMENT Dostoyevsky’s epic Russian novel is part of
Ion Theatre’s sixth season premiere, which was adapted for their stage by Marilyn Campbell and Curt Columbus. This 90-minute variation follows Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov as he descends into madness, due to the over- whelming guilt he carries over the murder of an unscrupulous pawnbroker he has committed for her money. His justification for the murder is that he can perform good deeds to counterbal- ance the crime, while ridding the world of an undesirable parasite.
