4. Dab a tiny bit of glue on the open tip of the petal to seal the petal closed and hold with a paper clip until dry. 5. Now you have your first petal. Tease it into a petal shape if it’s a bit flat. 6. Repeat the above steps with the remaining squares.


Forming the flower: 1. Arrange some petals with the open tips together into a circle to see how many it takes to make the centre ring of petals (this flower has 16 in the centre).


2. Now you have an idea of size, cut a circle of card large enough to hold the first ring of petals, as shown. 3. Take a needle and thread and carefully thread through the tip of each petal in the first ring, to hold it together. 4. Tie the two ends of the thread together to close the circle. 5. Cover the cardboard circle with glue and arrange the ring of petals on it. This may be a bit fiddly. Leave to dry. 6. To build out the flower, take another petal, dab glue onto the outside of the open ends and slide
