INTO THE WILD WITH WILD FOCUS PHOTO TOURS

Travel and photography go together like a good wine and cheese – both are great on their own, but together they make a winning pair. I don't know many people who would intentionally travel without a camera, and in the age of digital photography, this is has become more true than ever. In recent years, digital cameras, in particular digital SLR cameras, have become much more consumer friendly and readily available. For a reasonable amount of money, one can get a great entry level digital SLR camera that would “run circles” around what would have been considered a professional camera just 10 years ago, if not even more recently. Great photos are easier than ever to achieve in the age of the pixel, and dedicated photography tours, as those done by Wild Focus photo tours, are becoming the new way to experience the wonders of the world. Wild Focus photo tours was created by award-winning photographer and professional naturalist Jamie Scarrow. Jamie has photographed the powerful polar bears of the Canadian Arctic, mingled with the playful penguins of Antarctica, and spent thousands of hours in the field with the gorgeous grizzlies of British Columbia, all while guiding photo-hungry guests from around the world. Some people come just for the pictures, which is something Jamie doesn’t like to see. The nature and wildlife of this planet is so special and sacred, and should be appreciated on a much higher level than just a photographic subject. However, the majority of the guests that Jamie takes on these adventures do appreciate the spectacles of nature they are experiencing, and when they can go home with candidly captured memories on their digital cameras an even greater satisfaction is gained.
